Nagaon (Assam), 12 June (HS): In a major breakthrough, Rupahihat Police apprehended two alleged robbery suspects and recovered a pistol along with live ammunition during a raid conducted at a hotel in the area.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police carried out an operation at 7 Star Luxury Hotel and arrested the duo, identified as Tajajul Haque and Rashidul Haque. During the search, police recovered a 7.65 mm pistol along with two rounds of live ammunition from their possession.

According to police sources, the suspects were allegedly planning a robbery and were preparing their operation at the hotel after arriving from No. 2 Borguli area. The police team intercepted and arrested them before the plan could be executed.

The accused are currently being interrogated and police officials said further investigation is underway to ascertain their involvement in other criminal activities.----------
