Immediate action by Railways for passenger safety: Stone pelters apprehended

Prayagraj, 12 June (HS): An incident of stone pelting on

Lucknow -New Delhi Shatabdi (Tn no 12003 ) was reported on 11/06/26 at about

19:18 hrs when the train was approaching Firozabad station of Prayagraj

Division. The stone hit the exterior window of seat number 54. No damage to

interior of train and no injury to any passenger is reported. Train was

attended at Tundla station and additional RPF squad deployed for passing the

train safely.

Immediately, all concerned were informed. Local police and

RPF visited the suspected spot .A case under section 152 of Railway Act was

registered by local police on the complaint of RPF. Nearby installed CCTV

cameras of local areas were scanned by RPF and local police. In one of the

footage, some ragpickers were seen in which one of them could be seen pelting a

stone which hit the coach. Local police apprehended 2 boys. Railways is

committed for safety of every passenger and have a appeal not to pelt stone on

running train.
