Lucknow, 12 June (HS): Students and government job seekers

rallied in Lucknow on Friday to protest alleged exam irregularities, organized

by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, with protestors seeking

the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Candidates

studying for teaching, medical, revenue, administrative, and other government

recruiting exams gathered at Eco Garden beginning in the morning for a

demonstration. The protest is part of a statewide campaign started by the CJP,

which has also held demonstrations in Delhi and Pune.

Babloo Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and

Order), stated that permission for the event was granted after a person rather

than an organisation submitted an application. Vivek Kumar, a teacher,

submitted the application late on Thursday evening. He stated that clearance

was obtained when the necessary procedures were completed.

Kumar also rejected allegations that police had denied

permission for the protest, adding that no application for the rally was

received till Thursday evening. According to authorities, authorization for the

demonstration is valid from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with roughly 1,000 people

scheduled to attend. Dipke had already stated that the demonstration will be

peaceful and constitutional, while also raising concerns about potential

examination irregularities. We organized peaceful protests in Delhi and Pune.

We're not doing anything wrong. We merely want to express our opinions in a

democracy, he said. The CJP plans to organize similar protests in Amritsar and

Bengaluru before returning to Delhi's Jantar Mantar for a larger rally on June

20.
