Bhubaneswar, 11 June (H.S.): The Odisha Police have finalized extensive security arrangements ahead of the scheduled visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Mayurbhanj district on June 19 and 20. As part of the preparations, Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania conducted a comprehensive review of security and law-and-order measures during a visit to the district.

Emphasizing the importance of flawless security management during the President’s visit, the DGP directed officials to ensure strict adherence to VVIP security protocols and maintain seamless coordination among all security personnel and administrative agencies involved in the arrangements.

During his visit, Khurania inspected key locations in the Rairangpur subdivision, including the public meeting venue, helipad, motorcade routes, and other sensitive areas. Given the likelihood of large public gatherings, he instructed officials to strengthen crowd management, streamline entry and exit arrangements, and enhance overall security planning at all venues.

The DGP also reviewed security preparations at the President’s place of stay and her native village. He held discussions with senior officials regarding deployment plans and measures to ensure a secure and smooth visit.

To minimize inconvenience to the public, Khurania directed authorities to prepare a comprehensive traffic management plan and route chart so that regular movement and day-to-day activities of residents remain largely unaffected during the VVIP visit.

Further, he instructed intelligence agencies to remain on high alert, intensify surveillance, increase patrolling across the district, and closely monitor any suspicious activities. Local police officials have been directed to maintain heightened vigilance throughout the visit period.

According to Odisha Police, all necessary security and administrative measures are being put in place to ensure that the President’s visit is conducted in a safe, orderly, and successful manner.
