
Kathmandu, 08 May (H.S.): Armed Police Force personnel safely rescued five Indian tourists trapped in a boat on Phewa Lake in Pokhara, Nepal's premier tourist destination, after a sudden fierce storm and high waves struck this morning.
The tourists, boating on a wooden vessel near Lakehouse in Pumdibhumdi on Phewa Lake, were caught in the gale while heading to the temple in the lake's midst.
The rescued individuals include Lalita Kembagi, Yallesh, Pravina Kale, Bhaskar Yallesh Kale, and Nilakansha.
Upon receiving news of their distress, a team led by Armed Police Assistant Inspector Devendra K.C. was swiftly dispatched from the 'Watch and Rescue Tower' at Phewa Lake. The Armed Police disaster management team extracted all safely from the lake and escorted them to secure ground.
