Madhyagram, 07 May (H.S.): BJP Rajya Sabha member Rahul Sinha has demanded a CBI investigation into the murder of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to Suvendu Adhikari. Speaking to journalists in Madhyagram on Thursday morning, he stated, This is a political assassination. A full investigation is underway.

During TMC rule, CBI conducted probes while state police destroyed evidence, but those days are over. BJP now holds power at both Centre and state levels. CBI and CID will work with the new government, and we will not spare those TMC members behind this conspiracy. We do not tolerate violence, but we will hold our workers legally accountable for every drop of blood and deliver a strong grassroots response.

BJP state president Shamik Bhattacharya departed from Kolkata for Barasat Hospital this morning, where Chandranath's postmortem was being conducted. During this time, he remarked, I do not wish to make any political comment at this moment. The manner of the killing is not typical; it appears to have been carried out by a trained shooter. This was executed with complete planning. It is a matter for investigation, and comments will follow thereafter.
