

Kamrup (Assam), 31 May (HS): Tension and concern spread across Rangia after an unidentified miscreant allegedly hoisted a Pakistani flag within the premises of Nij Hachang Primary School. The incident came to light on Sunday morning when teachers and students arrived at the school and noticed the flag displayed at a prominent location inside the newly constructed boundary area.
According to local sources, the flag was found attached at an elevated spot within the school campus, triggering strong reactions from residents and various organizations. The incident has been widely condemned, with many demanding a thorough investigation into what they described as an attempt to create unrest and disturb communal harmony in the region.
Following the discovery, local residents immediately informed the police. A senior team from Rangia Police rushed to the spot, removed the flag and brought the situation under control. Security measures were strengthened in the area as people gathered near the school to express their protest. Members of several Hindu organizations also staged demonstrations, raising slogans and demanding strict action against those responsible.
Police have launched an investigation to determine whether the act was carried out with the intention of provoking tension or disrupting peace in the locality. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined to identify the individuals involved.
