
Guwahati, 31 May (HS): In a major anti-drug operation conducted on May 30, Guwahati City Police arrested 26 drug peddlers and consumers during a special drive carried out from Paltan Bazar to Kamakhya Railway Station. The operation was carried out by the Guwahati police with the help of RPF and GRP, Guwahati.
According to the information shared by Assam Police through social media on Sunday, a large quantity of banned narcotic substances was seized during the operation. The crackdown forms part of the Assam Government and Assam Police’s sustained drive against the illegal drug trade across the state.
The latest development was highlighted by the police today. Police officials stated that intensive surveillance and investigations against drug traffickers and consumers are continuing in Guwahati and other parts of Assam.
Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate in the fight against narcotics by sharing information about drug-related activities. Members of the public can report such offences through the nearest police station, police helpline numbers, or the Assam Police Citizen Portal.
The state police reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations and ensuring strict action against those involved in the trafficking and consumption of prohibited substances.-----------
