President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and several other leaders extended greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa on the occasion of Goa Statehood Day, appreciating the state's rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and journey of development.
President Murmu said in an X post that Goa is not only famous for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality but is also making remarkable progress in the fields of education, technology, startups, and sustainable development. With its commitment to innovation, environmental conservation, and inclusive development, Goa will play a significant role in building a developed India. She wished prosperity and happiness for the people of the state.
Prime Minister Modi said in an X post that this day is also an opportunity to remember with gratitude all those who have worked tirelessly for Goa's identity and progress. He said that Goa should continue to progress steadily and play an important role in building a developed India.
The Prime Minister also wished the people of Goa excellent health, well-being, prosperity, and a bright future.
In another post, the Prime Minister extended greetings in Goa's mother tongue as well. He said, Happy Goa Statehood Day to all. He appreciated Goa's culture, heritage, and everyday life, and prayed for the state's development and prosperity.
Lok Sabha Speaker Birla described Goa as an important state of India replete with natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, diverse traditions, and a vibrant lifestyle, and extended best wishes to the people of the state. He said that the enchanting charm of its beaches, historical heritage, art and culture, and social harmony have given Goa a distinctive identity at the global level.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah described Goa as a grand confluence of cultures and heritage and wished for the state's continuous prosperity.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Goa's vibrant traditions, social harmony, and growing aspirations demonstrate the power of unity in India's diversity.
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan appreciated Goa's natural beauty and cultural diversity and wished for the state's continuous progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Union Minister of Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjunram Meghwal extended greetings on Statehood Day and wished for development in all sectors, including tourism, and for happiness and prosperity in citizens' lives.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge described Goa as a symbol of culture, harmony, and progress, and said that Goa was granted statehood in 1987 under the leadership of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He wished for peace, prosperity, and a bright future in the state.
Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi described Goa as one of India's most precious lands, saying that the state is known for its natural beauty, rich history, and distinctive cultural heritage. He extended best wishes for the state's continuous progress and success.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini also extended greetings to the people of Goa on Goa Statehood Day.
Aam Aadmi Party National Coordinator Arvind Kejriwal said that Goa is close to his heart, and the warmth and affability of the state's people always impress him. He wished for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Goa.
It is noteworthy that Goa was granted full statehood on May 30, 1987. Since then, the state has been continuously progressing in the fields of tourism, culture, education, and economic development.
