New Delhi, 30 May (H.S.):

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with several other ministers, on Saturday extended heartfelt best wishes to all journalists and writers on the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day.

While extending greetings, Om Birla said on X, In our country, Hindi journalism is a powerful platform for society's consciousness, strengthening democracy, and expressing public sentiments. From time to time, it has played an important role in public awakening, social change, and strengthening national unity. It is extremely gratifying that in this era of changing times and technological revolution, the relevance of Hindi has continuously increased. Today, Hindi is not limited only to newspapers and television but is effectively reaching millions of people through digital media, social media, computers, the internet, and new technologies like artificial intelligence. The growing acceptance of news, thoughts, and analysis in Hindi reflects the power and reach of this language. On Hindi Journalism Day, we further strengthen our resolve to promote the Hindi language and empower democratic values.

Shivraj Singh said that Hindi journalism has played an important role in its glorious journey of awakening society, strengthening democracy, and giving effective expression to public concerns. In accordance with the spirit of public interest and social responsibility in journalism, may all of you continue to contribute to the progress of the nation and society.

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh said, Respectful salutations to all the vigilant sentinels of democracy who awaken, enlighten, and empower society through the 'power of the pen' and raise the voice of every citizen with impartiality.

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar said, Hindi journalism is not merely a history of news compilation but has been a powerful current of public consciousness, social change, and nation-building. Keeping the values of truthfulness, impartiality, and public interest at its center, Hindi journalism has made invaluable contributions to strengthening democracy and awakening society. My wish is that Hindi journalism, which continuously gives voice to the sentiments of public interest and national interest, continues to move forward with increasing momentum.
