
Guwahati, 25 May (HS): The Gauhati High Court is going to take up the third hearing of the bail application filed by Shyamkanu Mahanta on Monday in connection with the case linked to the death of noted Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
The matter was last heard on May 22 before the court of Justice Mitali Thakuria. During the earlier proceedings, defence counsel Pran Bora submitted before the court that the death of Zubeen Garg was an accidental incident.
In the hearing scheduled for today, the state government’s legal team is expected to strongly oppose the bail petition. Assam Advocate General Devajit Lon Saikia is also likely to appear along with the government counsels representing the prosecution side.---------------
