Guwahati, 25 May (HS): The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill was introduced in the Assam Legislative Assembly on Monday during the third day of the ongoing Assembly session.

In the absence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Bill was tabled in the House by Cabinet Minister Atul Bora on behalf of the government.

The introduction of the proposed legislation marked a significant development in the Assembly proceedings, drawing attention from both treasury and opposition benches. Further discussion on the Bill is expected during the ongoing session.------------
