Kathmandu, 22 May (H.S.): Manoj Kumar Yadav, a 54-year-old resident of Bihar, has nearly completed his spiritual journey after covering a distance of around 600 kilometres from Baidyanath Dham in Jharkhand to Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal over a period of six months and 18 days.
Yadav, who embarked on the journey with a vow to perform a Dandavat Yatra— a form of pilgrimage involving full-body prostrations at every step — appeared overwhelmed with joy as he neared the completion of his sacred mission. He will conclude the pilgrimage after offering prayers at the revered Pashupatinath Temple.
He entered the Jadibuti area of Kathmandu on Thursday. Speaking to the media, Yadav said that he completed the arduous journey at an extremely slow but consistent pace, covering nearly three kilometres daily through repeated prostrations.
Despite facing harsh weather conditions, physical exhaustion and numerous challenges along the route, he continued his pilgrimage with unwavering determination and devotion.
Yadav said he would rest in the Gaushala area of Kathmandu on Saturday and formally conclude his religious journey with prayers at the Pashupatinath Temple on Sunday morning.
