
New Delhi, 21 May (H.S.): The second season of the Asian Legends League was officially announced on Thursday. The tournament will begin on June 2 at the Gymkhana International Cricket Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
Following the tremendous success of the inaugural season, the league is set to return on a much bigger scale this year, featuring legendary cricketers, intense competition, and strong global fan interest.
The tournament, to be played in the T20 format, will feature a total of 19 matches. Several former and retired international cricketers from across Asia are expected to participate. The league has rapidly gained popularity among cricket fans and is often referred to as the “Retired Players’ Asia Cup.”
One of the biggest highlights of the tournament will be the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash on June 6, where Indian Royals will face Pakistan Panthers. The high-voltage encounter has already generated significant excitement among cricket fans worldwide.
The Asian Legends League Season 2 will follow a country-based franchise model. Participating teams this year include Indian Royals, Pakistan Panthers, Sri Lankan Lions, Afghanistan Pathans, Bangladesh Tigers, and Rest of Asian Stars.
According to the organisers, only teams representing Asian nations will participate, making the tournament a major platform celebrating the legacy, passion, and historic rivalries of Asian cricket.
Several renowned former international cricketers are likely to feature this season, including Thisara Perera, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Rishi Dhawan, Mohit Sharma, Asghar Afghan, Danushka Gunathilaka, Naman Ojha, and Shakib Al Hasan.
The organisers also stated that the tournament will be broadcast and live-streamed globally, allowing cricket enthusiasts to once again watch their favourite former stars in action.
With legendary players, thrilling contests, and iconic Asian cricket rivalries, the Asian Legends League Season 2 is being regarded as one of the biggest and most entertaining legends cricket tournaments of the year.
