New Delhi, 21 May (H.S.): AI-powered sports technology platform Kabuni has taken a major step toward transforming global cricket training by appointing legendary former South African captain AB de Villiers as its new “Super Coach.”

With the addition of AB de Villiers, Kabuni has further strengthened its mission to make world-class cricket coaching accessible to young players. Joining existing Super Coaches Sourav Ganguly and Shane Watson, de Villiers will help provide the next generation of cricketers with a blend of advanced technology and international experience.

According to the company, this partnership will combine AI technology with AB de Villiers’ cricketing expertise on a single platform, enabling players to benefit from data-driven analysis as well as real-game insights. Beginning in June, a national tournament for players aged 12 to 16 will be organised across India, where selected talents will get an opportunity to work with AB de Villiers’ team.

Kabuni’s AI platform records player movements and ball tracking in real time and converts the data into simple, actionable feedback. The company’s “1% Improvement” model focuses on making small technical enhancements that can lead to continuous long-term progress in player performance.

By integrating voice, video, and visual cues, the technology offers players not only statistical analysis but also practical suggestions that can be implemented immediately. The company believes this approach will make training more effective and intuitive, particularly for young cricketers.

Speaking on the occasion, AB de Villiers said, “For me, cricket has always been a medium for self-expression and pushing beyond boundaries. Kabuni is giving young players an opportunity to understand their game, trust their natural abilities, and think differently. I am excited to help the next generation of cricketers play freely and realise their full potential.”

Kabuni Founder and Chief Executive Officer Nimesh Patel said, “AB de Villiers is one of the most creative and influential players in the world of cricket. His ability to view the game from a fresh perspective and perform exceptionally under pressure aligns perfectly with Kabuni’s vision. We are building a platform that strengthens players technically, mentally, and creatively.”

The company further stated that its platform delivers personalised real-time feedback to players through biomechanics, motion tracking, and performance data. Under the “1% Better” philosophy, players are prepared for long-term success through small yet consistent improvements.
