New Delhi, 02 May (H.S.): The Supreme Court on Saturday dismissed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) petition, refusing any constitutional intervention in the electoral process. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed the court's decision and launched a sharp political attack on TMC.

BJP stated that TMC's approach to the Supreme Court with baseless and unfounded allegations reflects its frustration and desperation.

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi told the media that as West Bengal elections progressed, TMC's public support and morale steadily declined. He said that after peaceful and violence-free polling, unease and instability within the party intensified, with exit poll trends further clarifying the situation.

Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that thereafter, TMC knocked on the Supreme Court's door with unsubstantiated issues, signaling their political desperation. He also claimed that over the past 10 to 12 years, TMC has appealed more than 80 times at various judicial levels but faced disappointment each time.

According to him, the Supreme Court today clearly rejected the petition seeking intervention in the electoral process from a constitutional perspective.

The BJP MP further stated that the petition filed by Kapil Sibal was also dismissed. He claimed that Chief Minister's personal presence during the raid on IPAC office indicates lack of full trust in her own associates.

Sudhanshu Trivedi added that Kapil Sibal, who represented parties in Babri Masjid Action Committee cases and maintains political inclination towards TMC, saw his petition summarily ignored by the court.

He remarked that while the Supreme Court's decision is entirely appropriate from a constitutional viewpoint, it raises serious questions about TMC's intentions from political and ethical perspectives.
