Imphal East, 18 May (HS): Security forces arrested an active cadre of the proscribed outfit People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak during an operation conducted in Manipur’s Imphal East district, officials informed on Tuesday.

The arrested individual has been identified as Laishram Jivan Singh (38), a resident of Langmeidong. He was apprehended from Khabam Lamkhai Makha Leikai area under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district during the security operation carried out on May 17.

According to security sources, the arrested militant was reportedly an active member of PREPAK and was operating in the region. Following the arrest, he was handed over to the police for further legal proceedings and investigation.

Security agencies have intensified search and counter-insurgency operations across sensitive areas of the state to curb militant activities and maintain law and order.------------
