Lucknow,

16 May (HS): On the auspicious occasion of Shani Jayanti, Uttar Pradesh Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted the state's residents via social media

platforms (such as X). He prayed to Lord Shanidev, the god of justice and

karma, for happiness, prosperity, and well-being for everyone. Shani Jayanti is

observed every year on the new moon day of the month of Jyeshtha. On this day, devotees worship Lord Shanidev

with black sesame seeds, black gram, and mustard oil. It is also usual to

recite the Shani Chalisa and give alms to the poor.

In

a post on X, UP CM remarked, “Om Sham Shanaischaraya Namah. Heartfelt

congratulations and best wishes to the residents of the state on Shani Jayanti.

May the blessings of Lord Shani Dev, the deity of justice and the fruits of

karma, grant everyone happiness, prosperity, and good health—this is the

auspicious wish.”
