Gold Shines in Jewellers’ Markets; Silver Prices Plummet

In domestic jewellery markets today, gold maintained an upward trend during early trading, while silver suffered a sharp decline. In most of the country’s jewellery centres, gold rose by between ₹300 and ₹330 per 10 grams. In contrast, silver became cheaper by as much as ₹10,200 per kilogram during early trade.

Owing to the rise in spot gold prices in the domestic market, 24-carat gold was trading across most parts of the country between ₹1,62,340 and ₹1,64,190 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold was selling in the range of ₹1,48,810 to ₹1,50,510 per 10 grams.

Because of weakness in silver, the white metal was being sold in the Delhi jewellery market today at ₹2,99,900 per kilogram. In international markets, spot gold eased by 0.80 percent to $4,614.17 per ounce. Silver was trading overseas at $87.04 per ounce.

In Delhi today, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,62,490 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted at ₹1,48,960 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the commercial capital, 24-carat gold was selling at ₹1,62,340 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,48,810 per 10 grams. In Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,62,390 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,48,860 per 10 grams.

Across other major cities, 24-carat gold in Chennai was being sold at ₹1,64,190 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,50,510 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,62,340 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,48,810 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,62,390 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,48,860 per 10 grams.

In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was selling at ₹1,62,490 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,48,960 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹1,62,390 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,48,860 per 10 grams. In Lucknow’s jewellery market, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,62,490 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,48,960 per 10 grams.

As in other states, gold prices showed an upward trend in the jewellery markets of Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha today. In the capitals of these three states—Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar—24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,62,340 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at ₹1,48,810 per 10 grams.
