Tehran, 14 May (H.S.): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a stern declaration Thursday, asserting that any entity colluding with Israel to foment division within Iran will face severe consequences, framing such actions as a foolish gamble against the Iranian people.
Araghchi's remarks, delivered amid escalating regional tensions, highlighted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent public statements as confirmation of intelligence long relayed to Iran's leadership by its security apparatus.
Netanyahu has now publicly revealed what Iran's security services conveyed long ago to our leadership. Enmity with the Great People of Iran is a foolish gamble, he emphasized, underscoring Tehran's resolve to counter perceived aggressions.
The foreign minister's comments come against the backdrop of the ongoing Iran conflict, where Israel and the U.S. have been accused by Tehran of coordinated strikes disrupting critical maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz. Araghchi reiterated Iran's legitimate right to self-defense, stating that hostilities would cease only upon Israel's cessation of aggression, a position he has consistently maintained in diplomatic channels.
In recent engagements, including discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Omani counterparts, Araghchi has detailed the war and aggression by U.S.-Israeli forces, vowing deeper strategic ties to safeguard national interests. He has also dismissed foreign interference in Iran's leadership transitions, affirming the internal selection process under Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
Araghchi's rhetoric signals Tehran's unyielding stance as nuclear talks falter and ceasefire violations persist, positioning Iran to demand international accountability while closing identified security vulnerabilities exposed in prior confrontations.
