Guwahati, 14 May (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has approved the proposed allocation of portfolios to the newly inducted members of the Assam Council of Ministers following a recommendation sent by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Guwahati, 14 May (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has approved the proposed allocation of portfolios to the newly inducted members of the Assam Council of Ministers following a recommendation sent by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

According to an official communication issued from Raj Bhavan on Thursday, the Governor approved the proposal contained in the Chief Minister’s letter dated May 14, 2026 regarding the distribution of departments among four ministers.

As per the approved allocation, Rameswar Teli has been assigned the departments of Transformation and Development, Labour Welfare, and Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare.

Atul Bora has been allotted Panchayat and Rural Development, Implementation of Assam Accord, Border Protection and Development, and Excise departments.

Charan Boro will handle the Transport department along with Welfare of Bodoland.

Meanwhile, Ajanta Neog has been entrusted with the departments of Women and Child Development and Tourism.

The approval was formally conveyed by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya in a letter addressed to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from Raj Bhavan, Guwahati.-----------
