Mathura,

13 May (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on

Wednesday reached Vrindavan, the city of Kanha, where he paid obeisance at the

world-famous Thakur Banke Bihari temple. During this, he prayed for the

prosperity of the state and the victory of the BJP in the upcoming assembly

elections.

Speaking

to reporters after offering prayers at the temple, Maurya said he is an ardent

devotee of Thakurji and often comes to seek his blessings. I have wished

Thakurji for the progress of the country and the state, he said. At the

same time, on the lines of Assam, the blessings of forming a BJP government

with a thumping majority for the third time in Uttar Pradesh in 2027 have been

sought so that Ram Rajya, good governance and strong law and order are

maintained in the state. The Deputy Chief Minister also spoke on local issues

and current affairs. On the question of cases filed against women of Thakur

Banke Bihari Temple's Sewayat family, he assured that all cases filed against

women would be withdrawn. Expressing deep grief over the sudden demise of Prateek

Yadav, husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, he described it as an extremely

painful incident and conveyed his condolences to the family.

Earlier,

Keshav Prasad Maurya performed the rituals with Vedic hymns in the presence of

temple sevayat Acharya Gopi Goswami and Acharya Balkrishna Goswami. The

sevayats honoured him by presenting him Thakurji's prasadi angavastra and

prasad. Prominent leaders and workers including MLAs Puran Prakash, Rajesh

Chaudhary, Dinesh Goswami and BJP Mandal President Jitendra Varshney Shronush
