13 May (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on
Wednesday reached Vrindavan, the city of Kanha, where he paid obeisance at the
world-famous Thakur Banke Bihari temple. During this, he prayed for the
prosperity of the state and the victory of the BJP in the upcoming assembly
elections.
Speaking
to reporters after offering prayers at the temple, Maurya said he is an ardent
devotee of Thakurji and often comes to seek his blessings. I have wished
Thakurji for the progress of the country and the state, he said. At the
same time, on the lines of Assam, the blessings of forming a BJP government
with a thumping majority for the third time in Uttar Pradesh in 2027 have been
sought so that Ram Rajya, good governance and strong law and order are
maintained in the state. The Deputy Chief Minister also spoke on local issues
and current affairs. On the question of cases filed against women of Thakur
Banke Bihari Temple's Sewayat family, he assured that all cases filed against
women would be withdrawn. Expressing deep grief over the sudden demise of Prateek
Yadav, husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, he described it as an extremely
painful incident and conveyed his condolences to the family.
Earlier,
Keshav Prasad Maurya performed the rituals with Vedic hymns in the presence of
temple sevayat Acharya Gopi Goswami and Acharya Balkrishna Goswami. The
sevayats honoured him by presenting him Thakurji's prasadi angavastra and
prasad. Prominent leaders and workers including MLAs Puran Prakash, Rajesh
Chaudhary, Dinesh Goswami and BJP Mandal President Jitendra Varshney Shronush
were present on the occasion.
