
New Delhi, 01 May (H.S.): Union Labour and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate the newly constructed 100-bed Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Doddaballapur, Karnataka, on May 3. He will also virtually lay the foundation stone for a 100-bed ESIC hospital in Bellary.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mandaviya will on the occasion honour the construction workers who contributed to the development of the hospital and will also disburse cash benefits to ESI beneficiaries. The 100-bed hospital in Doddaballapur will serve more than 1,42,037 insured workers and their families, benefiting around 5.50 lakh beneficiaries across Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru and Kolar districts. Once completed, the Bellary hospital will meet the medical needs of around 64,000 workers and their families, benefiting more than 2 lakh people in the Bellary division.
The ESIC hospital in Doddaballapur, located in Bengaluru Rural district, is a 100-bed multi-speciality secondary care centre built on five acres at a cost of Rs 101.14 crore. It has 32 staff quarters and will offer major services such as general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics and emergency care. It will also provide comprehensive diagnostic facilities including radiology, laboratory and blood bank services.
The proposed ESIC hospital in Bellary will be developed on 5.21 acres at an estimated cost of about Rs 150 crore. It will provide modern, state-of-the-art healthcare services to insured persons and their families under the ESI scheme.
