New Delhi, 01 May (H.S.):

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will today inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of several important projects related to the dairy and cooperative sectors at the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) in Leh, Ladakh. On this occasion, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, and Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena will be present.

According to the Ministry of Cooperation, the Central Government has taken initiatives to strengthen dairy infrastructure in Ladakh. Shah will lay the foundation stone of a dairy plant with 10 tonnes per day capacity in Kargil, along with inaugurating curd and paneer production units in Leh.

On this occasion, a bulk milk cooler system will also be launched to improve milk storage and transportation. Additionally, the Android-based Automated Milk Collection System (AMCS) app will be launched. This will bring transparency to the milk procurement process and facilitate payments to farmers.

According to the Ministry, a mobile milk testing laboratory will also be flagged off to ensure milk quality. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed between various stakeholders to enhance the marketing and distribution of dairy products. Progressive dairy farmers will also be honored.
