New Delhi, 09 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the importance of inner knowledge on Thursday, sharing a Sanskrit subhashita and highlighting it as the bedrock of national advancement.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, he reiterated that India’s rich heritage and cultural wisdom have always taught that true knowledge and its right application form the core basis of a nation’s progress.

Modi noted that Indian tradition distinguishes between external, information‑driven learning and the deeper, internal wisdom that resides within every individual. Citing this continuity, he said the country’s youth today are walking this path, actively contributing to the building of a prosperous and empowered India through a value‑based mindset rooted in this understanding.

The Prime Minister quoted the following Sanskrit verse:

“अन्तःस्थमेव यज्ज्ञानं ज्ञानादपि च यत्परम्।

तदेव सर्वसंसारसारं सद्भिरुपास्यते॥”

In his explanation, PM Modi said the verse conveys that the knowledge which exists within us, and which is higher than ordinary or external learning, is the true essence of the entire world. He stressed that great and learned individuals regard this inner wisdom as supreme and devote themselves to its cultivation and reverence.

The Prime Minister urged the nation’s young generation to embrace this value‑based philosophy, arguing that such an approach not only strengthens personal character but also enhances their contribution to nation‑building. By aligning education, innovation, and public service with inner clarity and ethical grounding, he said, India’s aspiring citizens can help transform the country into a more enlightened and resilient global power.
