
Ghazipur,
April 9 (HS): A tourist bus toppled on the Varanasi-Gorakhpur national highway
near Naisara hamlet in the Nandganj police station area on Thursday, killing
two ladies and injuring numerous others, according to authorities. According to District Magistrate Avinash
Kumar and Superintendent of Police Dr Iraz Raja, the victims' names are
Annapurna (50) and Saraswati (70). According to authorities, three passengers
were seriously injured in the crash, while 43 others had minor injuries. According
to the authorities, the visitors from Maharashtra were on a nine-day trip and
had come to Ayodhya for Ram Darshan. They were on their way to Varanasi to see
the Kashi Vishwanath temple when the disaster happened.
Locals
and police hurried to the scene and sent the injured to a local hospital, where
the two ladies were pronounced dead, according to officials. The injured are
now being treated. The
district magistrate and superintendent of police later visited the hospital,
together with Medical College Principal Dr Anand Mishra, and urged physicians
to ensure that the injured were properly treated.
