
Guwahati, 08 April (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said that the rich cultural heritage of Assam’s diverse communities has recently helped establish a distinct identity for the state on the global stage.
Highlighting the significance of indigenous traditions through his social media message, the Chief Minister noted that Assam’s folk culture is as ancient and vibrant as those found across the world. He emphasized that the initiatives undertaken by the state government to preserve and promote this cultural legacy globally have received unparalleled support and cooperation from the people.
Referring to major cultural events such as Bihu, Jhumoir, and Bagurumba, Sarma said their success reflects the enthusiasm and sense of responsibility among the younger generation, which he termed a highly positive sign for the future.
