
Sohra (Meghalaya), 30 April (HS): A 15-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district went missing after reportedly falling into a waterfall in the Sohra region of Meghalaya, police officials said on Thursday. The incident occurred on Wednesday at a popular tourist site in the area.
According to official sources, the teenager had travelled to Meghalaya with her family on a vacation. During the visit, she was attempting to take photographs near the waterfall when she lost her balance and slipped into a deep natural pool below.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information and launched an intensive search operation. Despite efforts that continued throughout the day, no trace of the girl was found till late evening.
Authorities stated that the search operation had to be temporarily suspended after sunset due to poor visibility and the difficult terrain of the area. The State Disaster Response Team (SDRT) resumed the search operation on Thursday morning.
Officials said preparations are underway to intensify the search efforts further to locate the missing teenager.-----------
