April 25 (HS): Due to bad weather in Kathmandu, three international flights

were diverted to Lucknow Airport. Flights from Bangkok, Sharjah, and Hong Kong

landed in Lucknow late last night. After the weather normalized, all flights

were redirected to Kathmandu. Passengers faced temporary inconvenience. Due to

sudden bad weather in Nepal on Friday night, three international flights bound

for Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, had to be diverted to Lucknow Airport late last

night. According to airport sources, due to sudden bad weather in Nepal on Friday

night, flight operations became difficult. Due to which three flights were

diverted to Lucknow Airport. Later, when the weather improved, they were again

sent to Kathmandu. According to airport sources, Thai Airways International

flight number TG-309, which arrived in Kathmandu from Bangkok at 11 pm on

Friday night, could not land at Kathmandu Airport.

After

circling the airport, the plane was diverted to Lucknow. The plane was carrying

134 passengers and seven crew members. Meanwhile, Air Arabia flight G-9530,

scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu from Sharjah at 10:40 pm, was denied landing

permission at Kathmandu Airport, forcing it to circle several times before

reaching Kathmandu. Later, this too was diverted to Lucknow. There were 173

passengers and crew members on this plane.

Apart

from this, Cathay Pacific flight number CX-603, which arrived in Kathmandu from

Hong Kong at 9:45 pm, could not land at Kathmandu airport. Instead, it was also

diverted to Lucknow. There were 311 passengers and 7 crew members on board this

plane. All three planes reached Lucknow airport between 10 pm and 11:30 pm. The

airport administration ensured arrangements keeping in mind the necessary

facilities of all the passengers. Later, when the weather conditions in Nepal

returned to normal, all flights were rerouted to Kathmandu. Passengers

experienced some inconvenience during this time, but the situation soon

returned to normal.
