Bhubaneswar, 25 April (H.S.) : The Odisha Legislative Assembly will convene a one-day special session on April 30 to deliberate on the participation and contribution of women in Indian democracy, according to an official notification issued by the Assembly Secretariat.

All Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have been requested to remain present during the proceedings, which will exclusively focus on the role of women in strengthening the country’s democratic framework.

The special discussion is being seen as significant, given that women constitute nearly half of India’s population and play a crucial role in the nation’s social, political and economic development. The session is expected to examine ways to enhance women’s participation in governance and legislative institutions.
