Hooghy, 23 April (H.S.): Amid the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Bhaskar Bhattacharya from the Serampore Assembly constituency carried out a unique election campaign on Thursday morning by travelling in a local train.
Bhattacharya boarded a Serampore–Howrah local train from Serampore railway station and interacted directly with daily commuters during the journey. He spoke to passengers, listened to their concerns, and appealed to them to vote in favor of the BJP.
During the journey from Serampore to Rishra station, he continued campaigning inside the train compartment, engaging with people at close quarters. The campaign received a positive response, with several commuters expressing their support.
This approach is being seen as a grassroots-level outreach effort, where the candidate chose direct public interaction over conventional campaign methods.
