
Guwahati, 23 April (HS): Ahead of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination scheduled for May 3, the District Commissioner of Kamrup Metro chaired a high-level meeting to review preparedness and ensure smooth and secure conduct of the exam across the district.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), Additional District Commissioner, city coordinators, and centre supervisors of all 17 designated examination centres. Discussions focused on key operational aspects including examination-day timelines, bell schedules, authorised personnel and essential materials required for the process.
A detailed presentation by City Coordinator 1 outlined examination guidelines, operational procedures and security arrangements, helping officials understand their roles and responsibilities. Strict security measures such as frisking, biometric verification, CCTV surveillance and installation of jammers were directed to be implemented at all centres.
Special provisions for PwBD candidates were also highlighted to ensure inclusivity. The meeting further addressed protocols to prevent unfair practices, handling of confidential materials, post-examination dispatch procedures and staff deployment.
The District Commissioner stressed the importance of meticulous planning and strong inter-departmental coordination to maintain the integrity of the examination and provide a hassle-free experience for candidates.------------
