
Kamrup (Assam), 23 April (HS): Palashbari Police have busted a cylinder theft racket operating in South Kamrup, arresting four persons including two habitual thieves and two receivers of stolen goods.
The accused had been targeting LPG cylinders, with several theft incidents reported from different locations in the region over the past few days. The entire act of theft was captured on CCTV cameras, which played a crucial role in identifying the culprits.
According to police sources, after a sustained operation, two thieves involved in stealing the cylinders were apprehended. Subsequently, two more individuals engaged in the illegal trade of stolen cylinders were also arrested.
Police have recovered stolen cylinders from their possession and further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the racket and possible involvement of others.----------
