Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing civil servants on Civil Services Day, declared selfless national service the unshakeable foundation of a developed India. He emphasized reaching development to the last person in line as essential for building a strong, prosperous, and empathetic nation.
In a poignant X post, PM Modi shared a timeless subhashita to remind civil servants of their core duties and values: Shīlaṁ parahitāsaktiḥ anutsekaḥ kṣamā dhṛtiḥ। Alo bhasceti vidyāyāḥ paripākoñcalaṁ phalam॥ This profound verse signifies that true wisdom's ripened fruit manifests in noble character, selfless service to others, humility, forgiveness, patience, and freedom from greed.
PM Modi stated these virtues define the ideal civil servant, forming the bedrock for national progress. He urged all civil servants to reaffirm their commitment to public service supremacy, ensuring every citizen receives development benefits.
The Prime Minister praised their contributions from grassroots implementation to policymaking, profoundly impacting countless lives and India's advancement. Civil Services Day, he noted, renews dedication to good governance and nation-building through excellence, compassion, and innovation.
