London, 21 April (H.S.):
Wolverhampton Wanderers' (Wolves) relegation from the Premier League was mathematically confirmed Monday following a goalless draw between West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
Now 16 points adrift of West Ham with only five matches remaining, Wolves—17 points from 33 games—drop to EFL Championship next season, ending an eight-year top-flight stint.
Since November under Rob Edwards (replacing sacked Vitor Pereira), Wolves managed just three wins. Notable victories over Aston Villa and Liverpool offered fleeting hope, but prolonged relegation peril proved insurmountable.
Burnley faces confirmation Wednesday against Manchester City. Tottenham lingers outside the drop zone post 2-2 Brighton draw; Nottingham Forest and Leeds United bolstered safety with wins. Coventry City clinched Championship promotion after 25 years.
