Bhadohi,

April 20 (HS): Police in Bhadohi have filed a complaint against six people for

allegedly kidnapping a Dalit lady five days before her wedding, an official

said. Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinav Tyagi stated that police lodged a

case against six persons from Fattupur village in the Suriyawan police station

area on Sunday evening in response to a written complaint made by the woman's

father. Teju Bind, his father Sheshdhar, his mother Mewati Bind, Shivam Bind,

Sahab Lal, and Ramnath Bind are the accused.

The

case has been filed under sections 87 (kidnapping, abducting, or inducing a

woman to marry), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult

with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the BNS, as well as the Scheduled

Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Circle

Officer (CO) Ashok Mishra has been asked to carry out an investigation and

guarantee the woman's recovery. On April 15, a lady was taken while her family

members were out from home. She had been taken the night before this event on April

6. Tyagi stated that the woman's wedding

was set on April 20 and that planning was underway. He went on to say that Teju

Bind reportedly abducted her with the aid of an accomplice during the nights of

April 6 and 7. According to the lawsuit, her relatives learned that she was in

Prayagraj after conducting a lengthy search. Five days later, on April 12, they

took her from her room and brought her home. Wedding expected to go place a few

days later; no legal action or official complaint lodged.
