New Delhi, 02 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended his greetings to the citizens of the country on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. He described Lord Hanuman as a symbol of devotion, strength, and unwavering dedication.

In a message posted on X , the Prime Minister said that devotees imbibe courage and positivity through the grace of mighty Hanuman. He also shared a Sanskrit shloka in praise of Hanuman:

“Manojavam Marutatulyavegam Jitendriyam Buddhimatam Varishtham

Vatātmajam Vānaryūthamukham

Shrirāmadūtam Shirasā Namāmi”

The meaning of this verse is: “I bow my head and offer obeisances to that Hanuman who is as swift as the mind, as rapid as the wind, who has conquered his senses, who is the foremost among the wise, who is the son of Vāyu, the chief of the vanara army, and the divine messenger of Lord Shri Ram.”

In another message, the Prime Minister said that this sacred occasion should bring fresh energy and enthusiasm into everyone’s life. He expressed his wish that Pavanputra Hanuman bestow upon all the blessings of strength, wisdom, and knowledge, thereby further enhancing the country’s collective capacity and power. In conclusion, the Prime Minister raised the slogan, “Jai Bajrangbali.”
