
Guwahati, 02 April (HS): Union Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Gadkari on Thursday visited the revered Kamakhya Temple and offered prayers during his ongoing tour of Assam. He performed special Pooja rituals following traditional procedures and prayed for the prosperity of the nation and the well-being of its citizens.
Tight security arrangements were put in place in and around the temple premises in view of his visit. BJP workers and local residents extended a warm welcome to the Union Minister. His visit to the shrine is being seen as significant both in terms of religious faith and the ongoing political scenario in the state.
According to the sources, Gadkari is on a visit to Assam to intensify the BJP’s election campaign. As part of his schedule, he addressed a public rally in Palashbari constituency in support of party candidate Himanshu Shekhar Vaishya, highlighting the achievements and development initiatives of the central government while appealing to voters to support the BJP.
After offering prayers at the temple, Gadkari also attended an election programme in the Fancy Bazaar area of Guwahati in support of BJP candidate Vijay Gupta before departing. His visit is considered crucial in boosting the party’s campaign momentum in the state.-----------
