Colombo/New Delhi, 19 April (H.S.): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan met Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Presidential Secretariat during his inaugural bilateral official visit to Colombo on Sunday.

Prime Minister Amarasuriya hosted a special lunch in his honor at the Prime Minister's residence, Temple Trees.

The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted meaningful discussions on deepening multifaceted ties rooted in shared history and civilizational bonds. Leaders reminisced over centuries-old cultural linkages while exploring enhanced technical and cultural exchanges.

Talks centered on India's housing project and a $45 million aid package for Cyclone Ditwah-affected regions, reviewing reconstruction for Indian-origin Tamil communities. Both sides emphasized sustainable humanitarian solutions for fishermen's livelihoods.
