(HS): Heat wave in the Vidarbha region has compelled the local administration
to declare holidays for school, colleges, and tuition classes. Nagpur District
Collector has declared holiday on Saturday, while Wardha Collectors had
announced holiday on Friday. The temperature in almost all the districts in
Vidarbha region is soaring about 42 degrees, a yellow alert has been announced
for the next two days by the Regional Meteorological Department.
Nagpur, Gadchiroli,
and Washim registered 44 degree Celsius on Friday. Wardha recorded the highest in
the region at 44.4 degree, while Akola sizzles at 44.1 degrees.
The temperature
in others districts of the region on Friday were Bhandara – 42, Buldana – 41.2,
Brahmapuri – 43, Chandrapur – 43.6, Gondia – 42.9, and Yavatmal – 42.8 degrees.
