Ballia, April 16 (HS): According to

police, a case has been filed against a man for making offensive statements

against Dr. B R Ambedkar and using casteist insults in a video posted on social

media. According to the police, a FIR was registered at Rasra Kotwali police

station in response to a complaint submitted by Ram Kunwar, Anuj Kumar, Prakash

Chand, and Arun Kumar, all of whom live in Dehri village. Mintu Singh Sengar, a

Dehri native, was charged under relevant sections of the BNS as well as the

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act

provisions.

According to authorities, on Ambedkar Jayanti, the accused used casteist

insults against Dr. Ambedkar and made insulting statements about members of the

Dalit community in a video that spread on Facebook. Deputy Superintendent of

Police (Rasra) Alok Gupta stated that attempts are being made to apprehend the

offenders.
