Kolkata, 15 April (H.S.) : West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Poila Baisakh, the Bengali New Year, wishing them happiness, prosperity, and good health.

In his message marking the festival, the Governor described Poila Baisakh as a vibrant celebration that reflects Bengal’s rich cultural heritage, deep-rooted traditions, and indomitable spirit. He expressed hope that the new year would bring peace and prosperity to every household.

Ravi also called upon people to unite and work towards building a “Sonar Bangla,” in line with the aspirations of brave martyrs and freedom fighters. He said the new year should serve as a catalyst for a long-awaited renaissance in the state and help restore the pride of its people.

Concluding his message, the Governor expressed hope that the new year would take West Bengal to greater heights of dignity and honor, enhancing the prestige of its land and its people.
