Gautam Buddha Nagar Police on Wednesday morning intensified vigil

Noida,

April 15 (HS): Workers at a private university in Greater Noida's Dadri held a

protest on Wednesday, seeking a pay increase, despite police saying the

situation was peaceful and under control following negotiations with

protestors. Hundreds of men and women workers camped on the road outside Shiv

Nadar University's main gate in Dadri, raising slogans to urge their demands. They

sought raises in salary and a doubling of overtime compensation, among other

things.

Police

stated the demonstrators were aware of the state government's salary raise

plans.

Around

10.45 a.m., police issued a brief statement claiming the protest was over. The

situation remained calm, and normalcy was restored following negotiations with

the workers. A police spokesman confirmed that there is no continuing

demonstration at the site.

Meanwhile,

on Wednesday morning, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police increased patrols around the

commissionerate and conducted foot patrols in numerous critical locations to

preserve peace and order. Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Rajiv

Narayan Mishra, along with other senior authorities and police personnel,

conducted flag marches to inspect security plans and assure readiness. Officials

instructed field troops to take stern measures against any effort to disrupt

the peace and to maintain PCR and PRV vehicles on constant patrol. Police

claimed the marches helped instill a sense of security in the public and gave a

strong message to anti-social groups to refrain from violence or spreading

rumors.

In

the Phase-1 police station area, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police

Manisha Singh conducted foot patrols with local police teams and Delhi Police

officials to check security plans. She urged the people to help keep the peace

and avoid rumors, warning that anybody who attempted to disrupt law and order

would face severe legal consequences.

Stepped-up

security measures come a day after the situation in Noida remained mostly

peaceful but tense on Tuesday, despite a minor protest outside a premium high-rise

society where hundreds of domestic workers went on strike, demanding a salary

increase and four days of leave per month, among other benefits. The incidents

come after large-scale protests by industrial workers in Noida on Monday

seeking salary increases, which became violent.
