Dehradun, 14 April (H.S.):
A massive crowd turned out for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow on the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, where people formed a human chain and showered flowers on him in a vibrant display of support. The Prime Minister greeted the crowd by waving his hand as chants of “Modi-Modi,” “Narendra Modi Zindabad,” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” filled the air across the Shivalik hills.
The roadshow, held on the Dehradun–Delhi expressway symbolising Uttarakhand’s strength, potential and economic progress, also featured cultural tableaux that reflected the state’s spiritual and cultural traditions.
Schoolchildren, young girls and artists participated in the welcome, while folk dance performances added a festive atmosphere to the event.
After the roadshow, the Prime Minister visited the famous Daat Kali Temple, where girls in traditional attire sang the Mahishasura Mardini Stroth, including the devotional lines “Ayi Girinandini, Nandita Medini.” He listened quietly to the recitations before offering prayers to Maa Kali and seeking prosperity, progress and well-being for the nation.
PM Modi also inspected the wildlife corridor developed with environmental balance in mind and observed its features closely. Following the temple visit, he proceeded to the Jaswant Singh Ground in Garhi Cantt.
