(HS): Thousands of music lovers bid tearful adieu to legendary singer Asha
Bhosle at Mumbai’s Shivaji Nagar Crematorium on Monday evening. Millions others
across the world were in grief watching the last procession of their beloved
singer who left for heavenly abode on Sunday.
The last rites
were performed with full state honour in the presence of family members, Chief
Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde, and Sunetra
Pawar, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar and other ministers, prominent
personalities from various fields, film industry, music and a large number of
music lovers.
After chanting of
the eighth chapter of Bhagwad Geeta and gun fire to mark the state honour,
Ashatai was consigned to flames. The funeral pyre was lit by her son Anand.

lovers queued up at her residence to pay last tribute to Asha Bhosle
