Mumbai, 10 Apr (HS): Manager of the Nashik’s IT

Company Ashivini Chenani was arrested for neglecting women employees’ complaints

relating to sexual abuse and harassment by some officers of the company. Some

women employees lodged complaints with police after the BPO firm’s 51 year old

HR Manager ignored their complaints.

Nashik’s Police Commissioner Sandip Karnik said that

the Manager was sent a notice at her Lullanagar, Pune residence seeking

information on her role in the complaints of women employees. So far nine

seniors including the Manager were arrested by the police.

The first complaint was received by the Devlali

Police on March 26, alleging rape by senior officers. Later eight other

employees including a man also lodged complaints. The last compliant was

received on April 3. A woman police personnel in civil dress was sent to the

company to verify veracity of the complaints, which was followed by the action.
