Lucknow, 1
April (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is leading a
zero waste to zero carbon emissions initiative to convert the state
into a sustainable economy. Key projects include adopting scientific solid
waste management (becoming Lucknow the first Zero Fresh Waste Dump
City), pushing 100% solar power in municipalities, and establishing green
hydrogen manufacturing centers. Lucknow has achieved 100% scientific processing
of municipal solid waste, with 55% organic composting/biogas and 45% inorganic.
In a post
on X, he mentioned, “Under the successful guidance of Respected Prime Minister
Shri Narendra Modi, the new Uttar Pradesh is establishing itself as a smart and
world-class urban center, aiming for zero waste to zero carbon
emissions. In this regard, I will shortly participate in the flag-off
ceremony of 250 electric and CNG vehicles of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation,
aimed at ensuring ease of living for the residents of Lucknow.
These vehicles symbolize the double-engine government's commitment to
cleanliness, sustainable development, and environmental protection. They will
further accelerate the efforts to make Lucknow clean, smart, and green.”
