New Delhi, 09 March (H.S.): Amid the West Asia conflict stranding thousands, Indian airlines—including Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa—will operate around 50 flights today from key Gulf cities to evacuate passengers safely.
The Civil Aviation Ministry stated Monday it's closely monitoring evolving conditions. Services continue to Dubai, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, and Jeddah.
Air India will add 78 extra flights across nine routes from March 10-18 to boost capacity, with carriers tweaking operations for security and efficiency.
Evacuation Surge
On March 7, 51 flights ferried 8,175 passengers home. March 8 saw 49 arrivals from those hubs by the same carriers. Airlines are assessing ground conditions at other regional airports to expand services. The ministry is coordinating with stakeholders to keep fares reasonable, curb surges, and advise passengers to check airline updates.
