New Delhi, 08 March (H.S.): On International Women's Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two Delhi Metro corridors and laid foundation stones for three under Phase-V(A), costing ₹18,000 crore, fortifying connectivity for millions with faster, safer commutes.

At the event, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hailed the gesture as pivotal for Delhiites, especially women embracing secure public transit. Inaugurated routes—Majlis Park-Maujpur-Babarpur (~12 km) and Majlis Park-Deepali Chowk (~9 km)—extend services to Yamuna floodplain areas like Wazirabad, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, and Karawal Nagar for the first time.

Development AccelerantGupta spotlighted Phase-V(A) launches propelling growth, alongside Delhi-Dehradun Expressway trials. Marking one year under PM guidance, priorities encompass Ayushman rollout, Yamuna cleanup, waste mound clearance in mission mode; 70 Atal canteens serve 70,000 daily affordably; new drainage master plan combats flooding-pollution after 50 years.

Digitization thrives: e-file systems, digital hospital records, online OPDs, asset/project portals, CM grievance app; schools gain 7,000 smart classes, 275 computer labs, 100 digital libraries. Ladli scheme disbursed ₹200 crore to 70,000 long-pending girls.

Gupta praised PM's women empowerment: 12 crore toilets, 10 crore Ujjwala connections, Jan Dhan-Mudra financial inclusion, 33% legislative quota; HPV vaccination for 14-15-year-old girls; district girls' hostels easing higher education access.
