New Delhi, 05 March (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu's ceremonial guard-changing ritual at Rashtrapati Bhavan will now occur from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. during summer hours, starting this Saturday, March 7, as announced by the President's office on Thursday.
Held every Saturday on the Forecourt—except gazetted holidays—this 50-minute spectacle demands ₹50 non-refundable, non-transferable online registration per visitor. It opens with ceremonial band tunes, followed by President's Bodyguard (PBG) horsemen entering from the South Court and a Gorkha Rifles platoon marching in.
New and old guards undergo inspection, exchange salutes, and formally hand over duties before a national salute. The highlight—a dazzling PBG equestrian display—precedes the National Anthem, all set against the majestic backdrop of Rashtrapati Bhavan, manicured lawns, and disciplined troops embodying India's military heritage, precision, and valor.
